Rocky Hills Ranch offers western riding lessons ranging from beginner to intermediate level. We have spectacular lesson horses, that are professionals and very disciplined in their field. If you would rather learn and bond with your own horse you are more than welcome to bring them along.
Spring 2025 Schedule
New Introduction Lesson: Date to be decided
This is an all ages introduction lesson that is strongly encouraged for all new riders or anyone that needs to brush up on basic safety and ground skills. During our spring and fall lessons we like to spend as much time in the saddle as possible by attending this introduction lesson it will create more time to ride while making sure everyone knows the basics of how to handle their horse and tack on the ground!
The course will cover the following.
- Barn safety and etiquette
- How to properly catch and tie a horse
- Removing/putting on blankets
- Horse grooming
- Correctly tacking up your horse
The introduction lesson will last approximately 2 hours. Younger children are encouraged to have an adult or guardian stay with them if needed for some extra support. The introduction lesson is $50 plus GST and full payment is required at the time of sign up.

Lessons will begin the week of April 29th and run for 8 weeks. A $200 non-refundable deposit will be required at time of registration.

KIDS WESTERN RIDING LESSONS
Kids lessons are held after school hours, and the children will learn to groom their horses, basic equitation and horsemanship. They will learn while playing games, laughing and enjoying the company of the horses. |
ADULT WESTERN RIDING LESSONS
Throughout the series of lessons riders will learn to catch, brush and tack up their own horse. During the lessons we focus on horsemanship and creating a partnership with the horses. Each rider will learn to maneuver a horse various gaits depending on their level all while participating in fun games. |
8 week session:
$575 + GST Private lessons: $100 + GST Semi Private: $80 + GST |
Intermediate lessons will enhance the riders knowledge of how a horse moves, understanding some basic fundamentals of reining patterns and learning to maneuver at increasing speeds.
Make-Up Lessons Policy: If classes are missed due to Rocky Hills Ranch, then a make-up class will be offered. If you miss a lesson for a personal reason we will try to fit you into another class but cannot guarantee that a make-up class will be given.

At Rocky Hills Ranch we stress safety with our horses and our riders. It is mandatory for all riders to wear helmets during lessons. |
